da apostaganha: A selection of tributes to former West Indies batsman Runako Morton
da blaze casino: ESPNcricinfo staff06-Mar-2012″Runako, without a doubt, was one of the most passionate persons I knew. He always played hard and gave it his all no matter which team he was playing for. He left a gap that we can’t fill. Everyone is really hurting.”
“As a player, he was very hard working. He made his little jokes, but he always took his game very seriously. He was always there as a role model for the younger players and I know he had his problems in the past but the younger players really looked up to him. He was always there to give them advice. It will be difficult to replace the personality that he brought to the club.”

“Morton was one of those guys with whom I became really friendly with whenever India and West Indies clashed on the field. I remember during the 2007 series, we sat next to each other on flights. Even if our seats were not originally next to each other, I would ensure I sat next to him. I would always ask him to pass on some of his music. I still have some of his collection. He was the reason I started liking reggae music. He was a very gentle guy.”
“Runako has been described by former team-mates and other cricket observers as a ‘warrior’ whose sudden passing is a tremendous loss to West Indies cricket. Runako made headlines for his renegade style both on and off the pitch and will be tremendously missed by his club and T&T team-mates alike.”
“Runako Morton has been a most positive influence on his younger team-mates [at his club] and was an inspiring team player with a strong fighting spirit. Like so many others, he had his faults but he fought and conquered his indiscretions and he was a better man for it.”
RIP Runako Morton. Shocked and saddened at the loss of my former WI teammate

“Runako Morton was a cricketer who was blessed with a lot of talent. He will certainly be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to see him play and to interact with him.”
“He was a great competitor who made his mark in the short time that he graced the local cricket landscape.”
“Runako was a gifted cricketer with the ability to change a game. He was always committed to making himself the best he could be as a person and as a professional player. I had a long chat with Runako on Friday and when he left the WIPA office he was very upbeat and looking forward to fulfilling his cricketing commitments. The news has stunned all of us.”
