Armor of the Undying |
The Undying Samurai (Mythic Tale in Ishikari Plain) |
If weapon aligned, Staggering enemies restores a major amount of Health. If weapon aligned, the window to perform Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge is increased by a moderate amount. If weapon aligned, Focus Attacks have a moderate chance to increase Stagger damage. |
The Undying Samurai build wouldn’t be complete without the Armor of the Undying. The stats from this armor are essential for the build, as each action provides a great bonus. Firstly, there is the understanding of “weapon aligned”. Weapon alignment is basically using the right weapon to counter the correct weapon, so a katana matches a katana, the Dual Katana matches the Polearm, the Yari matches Sickles, the Kusarigama matches Shields, and the Odachi matches Brutes. This means that you can use the aligned weapon to stagger enemies for a major health regain, and you have a greatly increased window for Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge, and Focus Attacks apply more Stagger damage. This all works nicely to ensure enemies are constantly Staggered, you’re constantly at full Health, and you’ll be slashing your way through Ezo’s villains. Here’s the Charms you’ll want to make this build even more effective:

These Charms will offer the most amount of power for the Undying Samurai, as most of them will increase the timing window for a Perfect Parry, which then lends itself to more healing. Simply by performing a Perfect Parry or a Perfect Dodge, you’re getting your health back, and if you do get hit, Charm of Mount Yotei serves to ensure that total damage is reduced. Parrying also inflicts Stagger damage, and the Charm of Masaka acts as a backup play, as you can throw a Quickfire Smoke Bomb to get a ton of health back without using Spirit, and you can begin a Chain Assassination when combining the skills listed below:

For weapons, you’re going to want to have all the main melee weapons (found here) so that you can use the correct weapon alignment. However, it’s also important to have the Smoke Bombs, obtained from “The Kitsune” Main Tale in Teshio Ridge. This build relies on courage, so players are going to want to commit to standoffs and full assaults instead of stealth, parrying, dodging, and attacking enemies with unrelenting fury to both stagger, heal, and succeed.

Bounty Master Armor |
Soma the Condemned (Bounty in Yotei Grasslands) |
Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge are increased by a major amount, but regular Parries are disabled. A Perfect Parry enables 3 additional counterattacks. All Spirit Gains are increased by a massive amount. |
The Bounty Master Armor is essential to the Parry God build, as it provides players with extremely useful buffs. Firstly, every Perfect Parry grants you 3 counterattacks, which is sometimes enough to kill an enemy simply with one Perfect Parry. These Perfect Parries also increase Spirit Gain, ensuring you can heal or use special attacks with every defensive action from your sword. Then, there’s the fact that Perfect Parry windows are increased by a major amount, which comes at the cost of disabling normal Parries, but we’ll use Charms to make sure you never miss a Perfect Parry:
|

|
Charm of Last Chance |

Heal Technique triggers automatically when suffering lethal damage from combat. Heal technique costs one-third of max Spirit. |
The Parry God build is reliant on skill and precision, as Parry is disabled, meaning players have to be exact with their timing. However, the Charms above make Perfect Parry easier to perform, and as such, they will reward you with more effects like Stagger damage and Healing. Another nice Charm for this build is the Charm of Fearful Defense, so that you can Terrify enemies after killing one of them with a Perfect Parry, as Terrifying enemies causes them to drop their weapons, surrender, or stand there helplessly while you kill them. We also use Takezo’s Charm of the Stout Heart as a backup, just to outheal any damage caused because we miss a Perfect Parry window. Here are the skills you’ll want to use for this build:
|
Skill |
Skill Tree |
Description |
|---|---|---|
|
Perfect Parry |
Attacks |
Parry an attack at the last second to slow time and perform a counterattack. |
|
Disarm Counter |

|

Increase Stagger damage against Swords such as Katana and Odachi. |
|

|
Takezo’s Dual Slash |
Dual Katana |
A double slash attack with Dual Katana that Interrupts enemies. Capable of striking two different enemies. |
|
Resolve of Lightning |
Dual Katana |
Increase Stagger damage against Polearm enemies. |
For weapons, you should really use whatever you enjoy, as it doesn’t matter about countering enemies to stagger them. The purpose of this build is to just open up enemies for a blue glint attack so you can Perfect Parry to get a triple counterattack against them, so we just stuck with the Katana and used the Dual Katana for the cool factor.
The Ultimate Shinobi

Nine Tail Armor |
The Kitsune (Main Tale in Teshio Ridge) |
Quickfire weapon damage and duration of status effects inflicted on enemies are increased by a moderate amount. Assassinating enemies has a minor chance of granting 2 Quickfire ammo. Enemy detection speed and Assassination noises are reduced by a moderate amount. |
The first essential part of the Ultimate Shinboi build is the Nine Tail Armor that you will need to wear. This armor provides Atsu with additional damage and extended status effect duration when using Quickfire Weapons, along with a minor chance to get more Quickfire ammo on Assassinations, paired further with a reduction to enemy detection and Assassination noises. The focus of this build is to assassinate enemies and remain undetected, but even if you are detected, the Kunai is going to one-shot Brutes and even make bosses feel the wrath of the shinobi. This makes for the perfect stealth armor, and pairs perfectly with the following Charms:
|
Charm |

|

Quickfire weapon damage increased by a moderate amount. |
|
Charm of Generous Opponents |
Complete the Clear Water Fox Den in the Nayoiro Wilds. |
Chance to recover Quickfire ammo when looting the dead. |
The most essential of Charms listed above is the Charm of Hidden Blades, as it allows you to throw 3 additional Kunai with each Quickfire use. The Charm of Burning Blades also pairs wonderfully with the Nine Tail Armor, as thrown Kunai now inflict Fire damage, which has extended effects thanks to the armor’s perks. These effects can also last even longer with Charm of Lingering Affliction, and Charm of Uncanny Aim makes the Kunai even stronger. To ensure you always have Kunai at the ready, use Charm of Generous Opponents for a chance to recover Quickfire ammo from the dead. Lastly, go for Charm of Brutal Volley to deal more damage with thrown Melee weapons, which you’ll have plenty of thanks to the right skill investments:

For the weapons, it’s essential to have the Kunai Quickfire weapon, which is unlocked through “The Winter Farms” Sensei Tale in Teshio Ridge. For most of this build, you’ll be in stealth, but for tough situations, the Kusarigama will be your main weapon, which is obtained from “The Way of the Kusarigama” Sensei Tale in Teshio Ridge. The Kunai is great because of the Charms listed above, and the Kusarigama is great for range and shielded enemies, to drag enemies towards you, and for the distant assassination skills.
